BMA236 Event Bid Report
Your event bid report is to support your event bid presentation but with more detail.
In the presentation you pitch your concept (e.g. Mission, Aims, Objectives, concept, theme, scope, team skills/roles, format, stakeholders etc.). This forms part of your report. You also need to venture deeper into the event project management side of an event bid. You will need to address event project management elements such as timelines, marketing, staffing, logistics, OH&S, budgeting, event closure and evaluation (see chapters 3-13 for the element that you might consider appropriate).
The format of the report is up to your group but assessors will be not just looking for what is in the report but also what is not in the report.
TIPS:
You are not going to fit a whole textbook into a 4,000 word report. Consider covering the elements under group headings. Your report needs to follow a logical sequence. Two examples are supplied at the end of this document.
It is highly recommended that you re-read at least chapters 3-13 in the Wrathall & Gee text.
Read the rubric to see what assessors are looking for.
Articulating ‘why’ rather than just ‘what’ will position you better in the rubric. For example, rather just stating that you are going to use volunteers, discuss why you are using volunteers and what your and the volunteers will get out of it.
Visual representations such as Gantt and PERT charts, stakeholder maps, site plans (even if conceptual) etc. will all assist to demonstrate your understanding of event management.
